Professional Development Thus Far
I have attended three education related professional developments. I do attend professional developments monthly for leadership development and for RA (resident assistant) related things. I enjoy going to professional development because I like to learn ways I can further my education, ways to become a better teacher and a leader. I love the professional aspect of professional development. I love being able to network with experts in the field I am studying about. The poverty simulation is my favorite professional development I have gone too, along with the Resident Assistant Conference at the Culinary Institute. I could relate to both of those experiences first hand. I wrote a blog on the poverty simulation if you are looking for more details on that professional development. I loved meeting people my age at the RA conference and hearing some of the things they have to deal with at their colleges. Building a network is very important when you attend professional development. I like to exchange LinkedIn's when meet someone new that I would like to stay in contact with. Making sure your social media is clean and that there isn't anything on your Instagram, snapchat, twitter, or facebook to haunt you down the line when applying for a job. Another tip is dress to impress. You never know when and where you might meet your future employer. I hope these tips help at your next professional development or conference you attend.
